Pros

Liberal policy for working at home or taking time for doctor appointments or family problems.

Cons

I felt like a cog in a very large machine. I was bought in to work on a sotware product and after 3 years I still did not understand what the software was for or how it was used. I was just constantly fixing bugs. They never thought it was worthwhile to train me on the system so I could better understand it and be a more effective employee. The company was not interested in training employees to keep them current. If I stayed there, I would probably be working on the same system, year after year, with not potential to do anything else. They were also not very good about keeping compensation competitive. I also felt that there was no real meaningful feeling of being on a team, other than eating lunch together with other people in the software group.

Pros

Great dedicated employees. Ability to learn from others mistakes. Good launching pad for a better job later.

Cons

Management is disconnected with employees. Strategy changes quarterly/yearly. Constant rebranding of identity, Bad employee compensation plans. Basic employee benefits/tools. No investment in employee growth/development. Huge debt burden seems to influence management to focus on financial exit strategy vs. long term corporate investment. No innovation. Not a market leader in how it supports it's employees, customer service, or products (follows other market leaders). Risk averse. Fragmented corporate culture. Questionable financial decisions (acquisitions, executive perks/travel, internal projects, employee cut-backs).
