Pros

PTO 401k and pension for part-time employees Discounts on food and merch Lots of employees so it's a great place to meet new people. Also the store is huge so there are always new people coming and going.

Cons

Always busy Irregular hours O4G = Organizing for growth. Basically IKEA combined numerous departments and cut staff and pay and tried to convince everyone it was a great change. I was working in Logistics driving fork-lifts. O4G combined our department with carts. So our department was then responsible for collecting shopping carts in the parking lot. More responsibilities you don't want for the same pay or less. Some managers were demoted and given a huge pay cut. Politics. Certain employees are favored for promotion based on their devotion to management.

Cons

if you a licker or friends or related to right people you will go far 95% staff here related to each other but they do not want this widely known so you will find all little things out in canteen and at smoking shelter husband/wife. mum/daughter. cousins. next door neighbours. boyfriend/girlfriend. brothers. sisters.old class mates. if you do not do as they want they will push you to the edge making you unhappy in your job or so you leave terrible food for staff makes them visit nearby fast food and bring it in to canteen except if upper management visiting suddenly Gordon Ramsay cooking very sly but very good with underhand bullying tactics preference given to full time workers with set shift patterns but part time workers are used to buffer cover giving no cohesion not good work life balance never practise the values they spout all time Ingvar would turn in grave
