Pros

This property is a GEM!! it is absolutely stunning! Trust me you will be blown away by the incredible marble floors in 90% of the main floor, the 16 station front desk with Pakistani Onyx top and the 3 restaurants and 7 bars to enjoy! Not to mention the pool! The company itself is a real pleasure to work for as well. The benefits there are really well put together. Anywhere from $65-$100 for basic to premium Health, dental and vision. Really great 401K with matching. Salaries are right at about average. I personally was an AFOM and started at $39k and after January given a 2.5% bump to a little over $42k. the real star about this property is its Senior Management! They honestly have some of the best managers i have ever had the pleasure of working with! The GM Tom, Hotel Manager Brian and Rooms Director Jose are as smart as they come! Cannot say enough about how they are truly there for there employees and are apart of the operation. I saw Tom, Brian and Jose about 3 to 4 times a day! Not to mention the other phone calls throughout each day making sire we had what we needed to succeed each day! I would do anything to come back to this company and wish that the event leading up to me being let go was just a dream. I would recommend this company and property to anyone and everyone looking for an amazing career with one of the most incredible hospitality companies in the world!

Cons

Hyatt acquired this property in October of 2013 and because of the large price tag it had a huge target on it for immediate success. I noticed that the company seemed to dwell too much on previous guests and not enough about incoming and current guests. Sales and catering also needs a little more communication with some of there clients. if we are sold out the night before and have 1000 check outs and your client is coming in to a penthouse at 9am, i am about 98% certain that your room will NOT be ready. Don't forget that, most likely, someone else's client is in there or someone who paid $1800 a night is there. Be reasonable!

Pros

I enjoyed meeting new people and interacting with them. I received benefits and discounts. I enjoyed the busy atmosphere when I had a strong staff working.

Cons

Advancement here is a joke. They wouldn't let me be a manager because I was in school. I only received a $0.90 raise after working there two and a half years and worked really hard. If you want to make a living, do not work here. Management is always changing and they typically write you up for menial things. If you need a second job it would be perfect but as a primary forget it. This place pays pennies.

Pros

I love bartending for the Hyatt. The clientele is wonderful, the hourly wage is higher than most food services positions, the tips are great and the management is outstanding. The Hyatt offers travel discounts for all employees and benefits if you work full-time hours.

Cons

The hours are long, which is typical in this industry.
