Pros

Nothing so far but the fact the hotel has been open for two years

Cons

Abuse abuse Abuse!!!! Management still acts and thinks like a housekeeper. Always hounding you to move faster like you areally a machine. Always talking about hours. You can't make real money at least not doing housekeeping. Peoplease who stay at the hotel are slobs they never had maid service so they want you to clean up after them and that is not what a hotel housekeeper do. But we do it anyway they make so big of a mess I wonder what these people homes look like just trifling and everything in management is a problem from hours to pace to cleanliness it's a 3 star facility but guest want service like they are at a 5+ star rate. That's because they never really experienced much any way, obviously so if all of that was out of the equation it would be lovely.

Pros

It can be fun and exciting. You meet all sorts of people and the experiences are remarkable. If your single and young, this can be a great start for you. They have benefits and free lunch food in there cafeteria. Everything about there perks is pretty basic in the hotel industry. They do offer 12 free rooms a year anywhere but that has a catch like most things. The location and extreme structure is what sells this place. They do not take risks or think outside the box. This means its safe and runs life a slow moving train.

Cons

They are very corporate. You opinion dose not matter and you will be generalized while being micromanaged to death. They will treat you like a child with no real incentive to work harder besides the iron thumb of management weighing you down with a pat on the back. Management is very much like high school with there clicks. They all fight with one another while using you as a pawn. If you speak up or lash out, despite your job performance, they will quickly use everything they can to fire you legally. Also good luck with getting any sort of unemployment, no matter how you were let go. They have a team of lawyers who will stop at nothing to destroy you in court. Everything you sign will be used against you. They will trick you into signing these thing during the course of you employment. I even had a judge side with me and criticize them for there use of wordage and trickery in explaining the simplest things. Do not attempt to make a career out of them. My recommendation is that use them as a stepping stone or summer job. If you are a young student this job is perfect. Most managers and supervisors quite and move on once they realize they are overworked and underpaid. If you are presented with two job offers and the Hyatt is one of them, do your self a favor and go with the other job. Don't be fooled into there advertisements as an A-1 company to work for. This is simple propaganda that they bought and tricked there way to the top of that list. They are very powerful and have there hands in deep pockets. They are experts in staying out of the news. Anything negative will be quickly rubbed out. If fact, I pretty sure once I post this, It will get deleted because......

Pros

The guest for the most part were very nice

Cons

The worst management I have ever seen. The turn over rate was higher then anyone in the 70's. people would walk out on shifts because they treated everyone so awful. Will make you do 3 peoples jobs and won't pay you more. The managers go out of their way to make sure you know they are the managers and you mean nothing. Work over time for them, go in when ever they call, bring in 4,000 plus dollars for them in a couple months and you wont even receive a thank you. Never ever work for the Hyatt Coconut Plantation.
