Pros
As a European, it was an eye-opening experience into the Chinese Business model and culture. My work colleagues were very good people, highly skilled and educated.
Cons
Seemed unwilling to take on change and adapt to meet market conditions. I often found that some of my ex-pat colleagues seemed unwilling to innovate and improve when the option for referring to HQ was available, which often reduced efficiency and left matters to established processes. I sometimes found that a favourable attention was garnered by the Chinese ex-pat staff sent from HQ, at the expense of local staff, and turnover was high.
