Pros

Good colleagues, hoteliers still value wholesale relationship even though this is jeopardised and undermined by Hotelbeds management

Cons

Unethical behaviour in Palma (boast of sneaky tactics as if they're innovative). Not a global progressive company just a Spanish company buying time before sold off again. Underestimates urgency of fixing issues (distribution, payment processes, legal etc). 20 years behind in terms of processes and technology which demotivates workforce. Non existent HR/constant loss of talent sets back company No travel benefits at a travel company is a worry

Pros

It was a great place to start in the industry. I was trained for 2 months (without pay) to become a Product Manager and hired full time. It is easy to move up in the company if you work hard, they value numbers above all. I never had issues with management, though that was probably because I was lucky because many others did.

Cons

While easy to move up in the company, the pay doesn't go up like it should. You perform well but the goals are so high that you can never hit your bonuses (which are puny anyways). You get moved from managing a small market to a larger one but no increase in pay, though the work is much harder. Also, since the Hotelbeds acquisition, employees are numbers and upper management has no control or say in any matters. Everything is done in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, and no, there is no way for an employee to reach out to someone in corporate directly.

Pros

Learn a lot about the travel industry and also learn how to read trends in the market. Good exposure to reading and pulling reports. Also, good experience learning how to fix pace issues in portfolio. Great PTO benefits.

Cons

Underpaid for what the position is expected to do. HR department and management makes it hard to get a raise. Most promotions are made according to how well a person knows the hiring manager.
