Reputation Corroding Experience

Pros

A market leader that pays a reasonable salary, however they definitely want their ‘pound of flesh’ in return. Your expected to work above and beyond while under intense pressure.

Cons

* Hotelbeds don’t consider their hotel suppliers as partners, and indeed, customers that are buying a distribution service. But as assets to be exploited to the maximum. * Distribution of FIT rates via B2C appears to be their default position even when it is forbidden by contracts terms. *Hotelbeds internal processes and operations are by design purposed to over sell allocation, ignore close outs and under pay hotel invoices. * Working for this company has badly damaged my reputation as their ‘cowboy’ distribution and dirty tactics with hotels naturally reflected upon me, the a/c manager. * Sadly, a rather miserable place to work with huge levels of employees unhappy, stressed, depressed and anxious, wishing they worked somewhere else.

Pros

Work schedule was fairly flexible in the New York office.

Cons

Leadership is rather comical in NY. The office leader wants to be a mentor rather than coming up with any direction. The sales side thinks taking customer to dinner will translate into business growing. Sales strategy is left to the staff with little input from above. And then when things go awry, blame is thrown at the people in the field. Cohesion of departments is non-existent. Company is a wannabe and feels bringing in new and different personnel will appeal to what had been a loyal customer base. In my opinion, this will lead to diminished growth.
