Pros
It's a private company so the whims of the market are less impactful as frequently as with a public company. They also have a decent employee investment program as long as you stay for 3 years or more. In my 5 years there, there were very few who stayed more than 3.
Cons
- The worst corporate leadership I've seen in 20 years in the IT industry - US leadership is too busy playing game of thrones among each other to manage - The real Japanese leadership is completely hands off and can't tell when a US exec is up to the job or not - Nepotism is rife with little to no oversight - In 5 years only saw one internal promotion, everything else was from external - Extremely slow in taking new solutions to market - Very little standardization in anything other than customer ordering process - There was not a usable internal Intranet from 2019-2020! - Poor understanding of the storage market; have not been able to pivot - SW development for IT customers is being built by developers who come from the OT world; the result ends up being a mismatch at best.
