      Management is lost in space

      Pros

      Benefits are good along with so called unlimited vacation

      Cons

      Current management team is 100 % lost and has no pulse of the business. They have no clue what the company actually does anymore and the culture is terrible. The only one is that you must fall in line like a good little solider and do as they say and not ask questions; otherwise you will be put on a list which most likely in termination when they get you in a layoff. The culture is one of unethical behavior, retribution and fear. It continues the company is either going out of business or will be sold.

      Pros

      It used to be a great company to work for. Great group of people who worked hard and had a sense of pride in what they did. Flexible work hours used to be a great perk, especially with the crazy traffic in the Bay Area. However, all this quickly became a thing of the past with the change in leadership.

      Cons

      The new leadership in IT brought with it discrimination, favoritism, nepotism and took away all that made Hitachi Vantara desirable. People are mere numbers who are going through the motions. Most of the original team has moved on to other companies and for the right reasons. Whoever is left is only waiting to find the right opportunity so they can get out of the toxic environment at Hitachi Vantara. Don't be fooled by the fake positive reviews that have suddenly flooded here. The company is struggling with hiring and retaining good talent for quite some time now. People have either been rejecting offers after accepting them or quitting within days/weeks after joining. If you are a talented individual who is looking to work for a company that respects and appreciates good talent and provides you a positive environment to work and grow in, then this is not the company for you. Run!!!

      Worst company I ever worked on. The "leadership" is laughable at best, they don't have any idea how to manage teams. They think by bringing fear, moral harassment is the best way. I never experienced moral harassment in my life, but this company made sure I experience that. Human resources don't care why you leave, I saw many leave and didn't get asked why. The people who stay are broken and have the idea they can't get a better opportunity out of Hitachi. Even if you are unemployed stay away, good mental health has no price tag.
