Pros

The company pays pretty well, and some of the people you work with on a day-to-day basis are pretty good. The location is great for those that live North of London , Oxford, or South Midlands. There are frequent team off-sites, which are a lot of fun, but they do not really make up for the daily pain of just trying to do get your job done.

Cons

The management team and the politics within departments make working there a very frustrating experience. If you are chosen for support and promotion, and play the game with senior management, then advancement is possible. If you don't mind selling your soul for a wage, then you can certainly may steady progress through the ranks.

Pros

I am proud of the name and I enjoy travel opportunities. Hilton is in the leading edge of hospitality technology. If your primary goal of your job is to learn new technologies you would do well here.

Cons

It is still a good old boy corporation with only a few (well publicized) exceptions. Those who can spin and say yes without any resistance are recognized as successful and those who point out the risks and try to mitigate them are seen as non-team players. Expectation management is impossible and if you want life balance, you will not find it in Hilton’s IT department.

Pros

The medical benefit package isn't too bad.

Cons

Their policies and procedures prevent you from succeeding. They hire you to do a job, but then their policies and proceedures prevent you from doing it. Vacation days are very difficult to schedule, and consecutive days off are nearly impossible to get. And unless you have many years of seniority, you will never spend a holiday at home with your family. Their attendance policy is a bit unrealistic, especially for those with children.
