Pros

Wonderful place to work with great stable of magazines and other media. Smart and talented management and co-workers; inspiring architecture and workspaces; great benefits; company genuinely cares about employees and their families.

Cons

The publishing business everywhere is under huge pressure as ad revenue declines; Hearst is no exception. Continual cost-cutting on the print side puts a big strain on morale. Creative thinking and new ideas are not always welcome; a few business units seem stuck in the past.
