      Pros

      There are great people who work at Halliburton. It is a great place to start a career and gain valuable experience. The benefits they offer are excellent and beat most of the competitors.

      Cons

      They laid me off one month before my 401k options vested. I was disappointed because they were basically treating me like a number on an excel sheet and not like an actual person. After some other engineers and I were laid off I heard that Halliburton had hired 8 more new engineers to start about a month after I was let go. This disappointed me further and caused me to question the business plan of upper management.

      Pros

      Decent money while you are working on the rig. When you are at home, still get paid. Very simple, straightforward work. Always working with easygoing, laidback people.

      Cons

      Field life & 12 hour shift work is hard to adjust to. No set schedule - cannot plan any type of appointment, or plan to be with family and/or friends on a certain day because there is always a chance you will be called to go to work. Lack of communication between coordinators and field workers.
