Pros

Good training, good oil field exposure in the industry. Global enterprise with lots of opportunity within.

Cons

Management problems. Understaffing issues, lacks retention of key staff members in field operations. Career can be somewhat pigeon holed and may find it tough to cross over into operator company.

Great on the job training Competitive Salary for an Engineer (compared to other industries) Job Stability You get to wear fire retardant coveralls and a hard hat.

Cons

Work until you can not work anymore (14 hour days are normal) Pay is not competitive when compared to other operators and most service companies in the industry.

Excellent safety training and great technologies. there are some great employees there.

Cons

Promotion poor , if you are not graduate straight out of college forget Halliburton if you wish to get promoted. You need to join the management click to progress.
