Pros

Great pay compared to competitor banks in the area, they offer decent benefits, 401k plan. They also offer true global banking for international clients.

Cons

Computer systems really dated, no real international connection between hsbc branches in different countries unless you pay to use a software to do it for business banking. For staff it can be tough to help clients here in the U.S. who have opened their Accts overseas because we don't have access via computer systems to see their Accts.

Pros

HSBC has a lot of opportunities to make things better, and there's an enormous amount of work that truly needs to get done.

Cons

Management makes up its mind what it wants, and wants to hear, and if it doesn't hear it, it shoots the messenger. Those that report what management wants to hear are rewarded, and usually move to another role before the chickens come home to roost.
