I had an extremely frustrating experience with the HSBC recruiting process at the Havelock Mireka Tower branch. After completing the interview and assessment, they spent nearly 3 months just to conduct document verification. Despite frequently asking about my salary expectations, they kept postponing the conversation, saying it would be discussed after the verification.
They requested an overwhelming number of documents, including a Gramasevaka certificate, a 5 year police report, employment certificates, house agreements, bank statements to prove previous salaries, landlord letters, landlord id copies, letter from parents etc. I even had to pay Rs. 15,000 just to translate my house agreement! After all that effort, they came back with a ridiculously low salary offer, claiming it was the maximum they could offer for the role.
What’s the point of collecting all these documents if they weren’t even going to meet my salary expectations? The process was a complete waste of time, energy, and money. This level of disorganization and lack of transparency makes me wonder how they treat employees if they handle candidates with such disregard.
