Pros

Big global bank with international reach. Well respected in the industry, with a great research team. Reasonable payers, and good work life balance

Cons

Poorly managed at times with an investment banking culture but not really the pay structure to match. Banking in general is going through a rough time so it perhaps isnt just HSBC, but I thought people are losing their jobs for no reason, other than forced cost cuts to businesses that are very profitable and successful

Pros

HSBC offers good benefits: medical, vacation, etc. HSBC compensation is highly competitive which attracts top talent/high performers.

Cons

There is a constant change within HSBC's Retail Bank, which makes many employees uncomfortable and make it hard to retain talent. Because of that branches are often understaffed and employees feel stressed and pressured.
