Pros

- Great team camaraderie --- multicultured work environment, different festivities are celebrated. - Inclusive policy from the top --- LGBT friendly (at least at the policy level). - Managers do review monthly reviews to check in on team members performance and give advice and guidance where necessary. - Performance based bonus and salary increment --- you perform well, you get the reward. - Most teams allow flexi work hours arrangement when required.

Cons

- Still using outdated bell curve performance appraisal --- no matter how hardworking everyone is, someone WILL BE GETTING a bad appraisal. - Because of this, managers forced to defend your team when necessary. - Never-ending cost cutting exercise disguised as organizational restructure resulting in increasing offshoring works makes everyone demoralized. - Used to give decent bonus and increment - Most people expected to work extra hours regardless of role.

Pros

Relatively high salary More holidays than anyone else Good mortgage

Cons

I would not recommend my worst enemy to join HSBC: they offer you pretty nice benefits when you join, but they fire very easily.
