Pros

Great staff and great hours and pay is good for an operator

Cons

The turn over of people in Grifols is ridiculous. I have seen people only last a few days. You would think management would see there is something wrong but they don't care! They give the Line Leads promotions to supervisors because they know anyone they hirer with years of experience wont last. The supervisors them selfs are trying to out do each other on how many vials gets packed. I don't know how the line leads but up with it. The communication is terrible, the bonus is laughable about a days wage. They give you nothing for Christmas bar your wages. No pay rise this year because of covid! Give me a break the company is making a fortune this is just an excuse not give us a 1.5% pay rise. I heard the manufacturing plant is even worse, people are leaving every week because of the supervisor and manager are bullies.

Pros

Benefits were okay, until they raised the premiums

Cons

You name it. The corporate office has divided into "Business Units". They have made terrible decisions in the last 9-12 months which has ONLY impacted the employees at the bottom level. A literal rich getting richer. The "Business Unit" Leadership DEMAND following without any sort of complaint or it's your job on the line. They sit in their meetings and point fingers and then pat each other on the back for being "impactful" and "responsible business leaders" and don't help those in which desperately need it. I have been with this company for 15+ years and have never wanted to leave a place so badly. If you are thinking about joining this management team, DO NOT DO IT. You will certainly live to regret it as it consumes your entire work/life balance, and if you let one thing suffer you will be placed on a chopping block that only extra ordinary success and rear end kissing will get you out of. If you think I'm joking I'm sitting on a call currently explaining why I get to demote 4-5 of my leadership team based on decisions and the commentary of "well you can complain and argue all you want but it says more about what you want your job to look like in the future" says what it needs to.

Pros

On site cafe with decent selection and variety of plates and salads. They are good about cleanliness of the production area. It is cleaned to high pharmaceutical standards. Wellness program - you can earn gift cards if you participate in challenges and do seminars online.

Cons

Upper Management communication is horrendous. It is dictated down to the masses. "Here is your project that has ridiculous time frames and not enough money. Go do it" is how it seems. The inflexibility from Spain is overwhelming. They are old-school in all aspects and quick to dismiss any technological advances in all aspects - office or manufacturing. Projects take years longer than they should because of all the hurdles you have to jump through. They do nothing to retain talent. We have lost so many good people because they do nothing to keep people there. Bonuses are hard to come by there as everyone's targets are based on manufacturing yields. Much of the upper management is from Spain. You won't ever get promoted past Director unless you are from Spain or Latin Heritage. The annual performance review process is a total joke. It doesn't actually or accurately measure your contribution to the company. Among lots of other categories, you get graded on things like "company values" and "Technology" even if you have no influence over technology. Of the 15,000 or so global employees, less than 0.05% get rated as excellent. Another small percentage, (I don't remember exactly) gets a 4. Almost everyone gets a 3 - meets expectations. Any software or suggestions you have get shot down immediately over either budget issues or validation timeframe. The Validation department has had over and over turnover. Everyone else gets hired, overworked, and leaves. Two years ago the entire team followed one engineer to Allergan. They hire far too many people from other aspects of the company without any experience or education. You better hope to have a degree from Cal State LA too because that is the preferred place since a key member of upper mgmt went there. Communication between GBI LA and GTI North Carolina is pretty poor too. The Work Life balance is very poor too. I think it all depends on your manager and director. If you have a great manager or director that can shield you or absorb it, it is an ok place to work. If you have a lousy Director, it is pure hell.
