I'm a woman so.....

Pros

Working from home option. Salary sacrifice options so beneficial taxwise. Large enough to move around and try new roles.

Cons

Where to start... Pay is diabolical, especially so being a woman as I'm paid less than my male peers, but nobody wants to acknowledge that, obviously. Been through the redundancy cull multiple times in my career with Fujitsu, so it's a common occurrence leaving staff wondering where the axe will fall next. Re-orgs are mainly to blame for said culls, and Fujitsu does love a re-org. Also the redundancy process is an absolute farce and badly managed every time. No transparency (or logic) re salaries for each grade so if applying for a new internal position you have no idea what the pay range is, and finding out is a challenge to say the least. Female ratio low (20% at last count I believe). Old boys network is rife in terms of redundancies (they avoid it) and progression (they make it). Very old fashioned outlook ie lacks agility. Any new ideas are slow to be realised and by the time they are it's too late as we're over the curve. Pay rises virtually non-existent and best way to get one is to leave and come back. Japan is now wanting to regionalise again, yet globalisation is key to success. But hey, it must be time for yet ANOTHER re-org so why not!?!

Seems to be on a slow decline

Pros

Some really great, hard working people who go way beyond the call of duty. Flexible working. Some good benefits. Varied and interesting work. Frequent opportunities to gain experience and take on more responsibility.

Cons

Poor pay, sub inflation pay rises every year and pay reviews delayed frequently. Always behind the curve. Not agile enough. Rare opportunities for progression. Taking on more responsibiity is rarely rewarded with addtional pay. Annual review system is a futile exercise for the majority. Re-orgs are too frequent. Pitiful training budget.

Unable to innovate or compete

Pros

Flexible working, if your old and have outdated skills you can probably exist here for a very very long time as seems the case with half the work force.

Cons

Clueless management completely out of touch with reality of customer, leadership team is more like an old boys club, bangs on about diversity to tick the right boxes but totally out of touch. Inappropriate jokes etc already cost one senior their job. Painfully slow to react to opportunities and incredibly high turn over of sales staff and client execs. Still living of the major service contracts of yester year and the associated churn, no sight of real innovation or winning technology.
