Pros

I really liked working there while I was there. The office setting was nice, I liked my manager and director, and most of my co-workers. The building was in a nice location, and the work pace was not a stressful one

Cons

They do mass layoffs every year. Within a month of working there, they laid off a large percentage of the workforce. This raised red flags, but I kept putting off looking for other work. Around a year and half later, they laid off everyone at the San Diego branch working on the project I was on. There was no indication that this was on the horizon, the messaging was always, we are going strong, and we are only getting stronger

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience while you were here at Forcepoint. As a Software Engineer, you had so many choices and we are thankful for the contributions that you made while you were here. Forcepoint is a merger of several different companies. As technology (from on-prem to the cloud) and leadership change -it is sometimes necessary to review talent and make some not so easy decisions of laying off. As the 2nd largest privately-owned cybersecurity company in the world, we are a leader in this space and are excited for the future of Forcepoint.

Pros

Speaking from experience at one of the satellite office in California. The people I worked with are absolutely amazing, even people not from our office. They care and will teach you if you ask. Manager helped me forward my career and myself. We worked and we had fun. I'd say starting off your career, this is great, but wouldn't stay longer than a year or two because of company.

Cons

- Annual lay offs - Senior level and upper upper level management needs to know who they are working with to avoid first bullet point. - So many exec level positions. Too much to know what to do with them

We are pleased to hear that you were able to leverage the great talent that we have here and that you grew in your career. As a fast-growing and ever-evolving cybersecurity SaaS organization, we occasionally need to assess the different functions across the organizations and their abilities to continue to grow with us. As new leaders come on board, the reassessments do result in occasional organizational changes, and these decisions are never easy. We are confident that Forcepoint is going to continue to lead in the cybersecurity space. And are working with our managers to make sure anyone who wants to grow can grow and do their best work here. We encourage all employees to have one on one conversations with their managers, review their goals and plan together for career growth. Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience while working here at Forcepoint, your comments have been noted and tagged for discussion.
