Fake tests

Pros

none, I lost a lot of time in the hiring processes

Cons

I've had an incredibly frustrating experience with Fever, having gone through more than six interviews for several positions. I had previously worked with them as a client, so I was familiar with the company and they considered myself a noteworthy candidate. However, they require a specific test that I've now taken four times. Each time, they claim I've failed by only 3 points, always on the same questions. For the record, during my last attempt, I had help from a friend who is an expert in maths and psychotechnic tests, yet the outcome was the same—missing 3 points on the same questions. When I tried to reach out for clarity on the results, there was no response. It feels like a scam and a co-opting mechanism rather than a fair assessment. This test appears to be a fake boundary preventing genuine candidates from progressing.

Pros

Somewhat flexible scheduling. Good for networking for creative types sometimes you meet the musicians/artists. Most of the staff who ACTUALLY DOES THE WORK SETTING UP THE EVENTS are nice to work with.

Cons

Disorganized company practice. Very convoluted / redundant ways of doing things behind the scenes (eg. Scheduling, staffing, clocking staff hours) Egotistical management. Direct manager of the city very rude and disrespectful to the staff. Bad micromanagement, toxic practices to staff. Chased away a lot of regular staff. There is really no one you can go to that will hear any issues you have. One did manage to listen when I had issue, but because she's out of state. Didn't change much for me directly and manager still shows signs of microaggression. Company depends on a temp staffing agency to fully staff their programs. Sometimes resulting in more pressure on management due to lack of experience staff to set up their program. You get to pick your schedule until something is at risk of going wrong - then you're being asked to help fix it. Always on call essentially, even as a part time staff, but there's a HARD CAP at 29 hours a week. No realpower/agency in the position. As the saying goes, "Too many chiefs, not enough Indians". It feels like they only care about you making sure nothing goes wrong. No support system to help Event Lead/Manager. Everyone in position lives in a different part of the state/country, so you can't really develop any meaningful work relationships. Expectations to solve issues/complete tasks that are larger than a single person's capacity or can't really completed in the time frame they're looking for.
