Pros

Depending on where you live the starting pay could be decent. Benefits for part-time is nice but the insurance is bs you’ll be paying out of pocket for everything but preventative care. That’s literally it.

Cons

Unprofessional management Complete lack of integrity in management and some co-workers Rampant favoritism Constantly changing schedules Non-existent work/life balance Outdated technology Old trucks that are in a state of constant disrepair. Daily breakdowns sometimes multiple trucks a day. Constant changing of benefits- ex. They recently took away the minimum hours benefit. So if your part time you’d be guaranteed 17 hours even if you worked less and 35 hours for full time. This was the only reason besides health insurance that one of our workers got this job, they had no problem pulling the rug out from under him. Our senior manager acted like a child whenever an employee had constructive criticism, how can someone that ignorant be put in that position? Way to go fx They can and will change the raise system whenever they feel including not even giving you one. I could go on for about 10 more paragraphs about how much poorly this company is run but I’ll save us both some time. The recent changes in corporate tax saved the company billions they gave us a raise 6 months early, that’s it. Their people service profit philosophy is a complete joke to the frontline employees. Their is only one word that sums up their policies PROFIT. The don’t care about their employees, they care how much money the can make off your blood and sweat. Worst job I’ve ever had good luck to people just starting out.

Pros

Good benefits (medical, dental, FSA, HRA, etc.), most managers are flexible if you need to work from home for whatever reason, a lot of good co-workers overall.

Cons

They do not pay well compared to the same job title/description as other companies, which will continue to cause them to lose young talent. They never try to retain talent because it’s a legitimate strategy of the company to let people leave so they can bring in new people that are cheaper, clearly ignoring the volume of data out there showing how expensive turnover and re-hiring is. Specifically, the sourcing and procurement org in the FedEx services operating company is an absolute nightmare, and that’s putting it lightly. Egotistical management, severe lack of true leadership skills, disingenuous, disinterested in employee opinions, and rule with an iron fist. Many stakeholders want nothing to do with our management team, which makes an ICs life miserable. A large number of employees have jumped ship over the past few months, which is only going to continue based on the amount of current employees looking for new jobs. But that’s ok, because new hires will be cheaper.

Pros

The company pays its workers well and offers nice health benefits to full-time employees. Also, optional overtime is abundant.

Cons

The company does not care about individual workers. When workers are injured on the job they are subject to being taken to 1 of the 2 worst hospitals in the area. Those same teammates are forced to work with their injuries or risk being fired for attendance. The attendance policy is extremely strict and on most occasions if a worker calls off, regardless of the reason, they will receive an unexcused absence.
