      This is a simple and easy job. I work at the AFW airport in Fort Worth, TX for about 4 hours every night, 4 days a week (Mon-Thurs). FedEx has a 17.5 hour guarantee, in other words, if you work 4 hours that week you will get 17.5 hours on your paycheck, period. The pay is good (13.75/h) and after your 6 month period is over you'll be free to any available job at your location and after a year anywhere in the country. So lots of job and travel opportunities.

      Very simply, I want more hours.

      Pros

      benefits for part-time were good. When you were on the road you are pretty much left alone. management does recognize good work and will document such.

      Cons

      stressful to meet time deadlines when you can only drive so fast. on days when there were less stops the avg stops per hour will obviously correlate to that. so mgmt will tell you that you need to improve on that. no way to do that unless there are more stops which you cannot have control of that. Some managers better than others.

      Pros

      Easy to get hired. Short shifts make it great for some people. The pace is usually nonstop and intense, filling up the whole shift. At our location, there is a core of very hard working people who assist and support one another. You get benefits as a part time employee.

      Cons

      You cannot live on this job alone. The work is physical and demanding and can do some harm to your body. The manager plays favorites and some people get away with doing as little as possible. It is dirty and you are exposed to the elements in the winter. Very little chance for advancement and not enough hours to support existence. Peak Season can easily burn you out.
