Pros

Work is different day to day, get to go see customers, have lunches, golfing events, trainings, demonstrating products, touring plants and job sites, I find my job fun and it keep my attention. I also like sourcing, calculating sales, and helping people out.

Cons

Pay isn't competitive, sometimes you can work harder and do more and get paid less

Pros

They pay well, or at least higher than most jobs you can get around this college town. They are constantly hiring. You go do your job and go home. They very often ask you to stay overtime ( could be good or bad depending on your situation)

Cons

Warehouse culture is too much of rednecks constantly talking about how they love guns and hate Obama and Mexicans.

Pros

No weekends, paid holidays, flexible scheduling. If you don't have a degree, this could be your best opportunity for a career with advancement opportunities.

Cons

Pay, pay structure, benefits (cost), GMs, advancement opps. Base pay is incredibly low, the structure is far too margin based (many stores have national accounts which have locked in discounts), was told to go make myself a raise, benefits are pricey for what's offered and not all that stellar, GMs are basically glorified salesmen, not necessarily good leaders, rather folks who have bought in to Fastenal and had good sales numbers. You are not given a raise, almost ever, unless you sell more (not a raise), or move up a position. Getting past GM is difficult, and may take longer than 5 years, good luck with that.
