Pros

Certain job opportunities and companies

Cons

You are treated as a number on a page. FDM is just a mill for cheap labour and the longer you are there the bigger the cut they take. The training is not as advertised (often 6-7 hours a day plus work on weekends). Account managers are aggressive and then once they have placed you, often uncontactable and unhelpful. HR is woefully understaffed and overworked so response time from them is also incredibly slow. If you can avoid please do!!

Pros

Some lovely and genuine people.

Cons

The Senior Management could not care less about the health and safety of their employees. When concerns about returning to the office were raised, employees were still forced to attend the office a minimum 3 days per week and even full time for some. They would literally shout at you if you expressed any concern about potentially being exposed to Covid-19 as a reason for wanting to work from home. Sales team were asked to LIE to their clients that they were working from home to create an illusion. One day everyone was crammed into a room (40+) to watch a video and surprise the CEO for the 20th anniversary of the company, in the midst of a global PANDEMIC. It’s not right that they can get away with this without any repercussion. Timesheet completion was put in place and made mandated by management for a few internal teams which showed how little people were trusted at this company. Those who voiced their concerns were even questioned and ostracised by certain management members unfavourably. It was shocking and extremely immature behaviour from people at that level. It’s NOT leadership. It’s dictatorship. Salaries for both internal staff and consultants are greatly below the going rates in the market. ZERO benefits other than those mandated by law. Shambles.

Pros

The only pro I can think of is that you'll make great friends here. This is because, for those who are in the same boat as you, you only have each other to make light of the situation. Friendships will go a long way. There's also a very supportive manager when you're not on the client site, which was our saving grace.

Cons

It's not only as bad as you've heard, but the reality is worse. If you're looking to join because you are a graduate and like all graduates, being desperate for a job in your respective field... You will not get the relevant experience here. Training - In my case, the training was completely irrelevant and unrelated to what I ended up doing, putting me on a career path that I had no interest in; making me stray further from my aspirations and wasting my time. Clients - Are aware of your position of having no say, and will also look to deceive/exploit you. Can go months without the opportunity to attempt to join a client project (3 months max in my case), wasting huge amounts of your time.
