Pros

- (Used to be) Good at landing you opportunities with big MNCs, client base used to be filled with tier 1 companies, - Awesome account managers that will do their best to help land you a role and check in on you - When you do not have a project, you work mostly from home, with only 1 or 2 days in the office - Most of the time, you decide what you want to do or upskill in. Full autonomy. - Training bond is just a deterrence to scare you from breaking bond, it is not enforceable and there are no cases of it being enforced. - Potentially able to increase your last drawn substantially as an entry-level IT individual. The price they are charging their clients for your headcount is absurd but I am thankful for that.

Cons

- Zero support in upskilling after your training ends, you learn on your own online. - Coaches will only give you materials to work with, they apparently do not have time to dedicate to you, though most of the time they seem really free. The internal staff including coaches do have the time and energy to celebrate birthdays and events all the time, but none to prepare you better for opportunities. They seem to just be here for an easy day job, possibly to wait for retirement. - Internal staff have the free time to actually keep an eye on you and calculate your punctuality to the minute. Do remember to take pictures as proof when you step in office. - Internal company policies change at the blink of an eye. Currently, you will require 28 days notice to take 1 day of annual leave, as per their staff handbook. Do take a close look at every word in your employment contract before signing. - When you are good or new, they will leave you be and be nice to you. When they feel that you have outlived your worth as a consultant, they will stoop low to nitpick on your faults, finding every reason to make your life hard in a bid to get rid of you. - They do not like change, recommendations and suggestions fall on deaf ears, with no sight of any effort to improve culture within. - Small office space for number of consultants, therefore they will give you flexibility to work from home. It benefits them too. - They will not reinvest in you, you are a product of the company and you will also be treated as such. They will just focus on pushing you out to clients and you will earn roughly 40%-45% of what the company is actually paying FDM. - Pipeline of opportunities not looking good, times are bad for IT sector and companies are already dropping FDM contracts. Do expect a long waiting time being benched, estimated gap will be 6-9 months per opportunity, unless you are really lucky. Many people are waiting for the opportunities and will need to fight for it amongst your peers

Pros

- Top industry clients that make your CV look good - Enables a smooth and easy career switch - Nice FDM consultants community

Cons

- The admin, HR, account managers, senior management, etc are very rude. Only fellow consultants are nice. - Lots of racism and discrimination for such a diverse company. - Pay is way below industry grade and there are zero external benefits. No bonus, no tips, no nothing. - They take 80% of the pay the client gives, leaving you with little over minimum wage. - They look for every excuse to deduct pay, often asking follow ups on booked annual leave to ask if you would rather take it as unpaid leave. - Holiday days are only 17 days as they book the rest off from bank holidays and mandatory leave for Christmas. - They don't cover travel costs and push for you to go into office thrice a week even when your team is fully remote.

Pros

- You may get extremely lucky and enjoy your placement - You can get 2 free weeks of (fairly poor) training before being contractually bound for the next 2 1/3 years.

Cons

- You are a contractor, and who you end up placed with for up to 2 years is completely and utterly up to chance. There's nothing you can do once placed to either choose post-training, or change once contracted out. 2 years is an incredibly long time. Working as a contractor often involves doing the work no internal staff are willing to do. Believe me, I have done exactly this for the past 18 months. - The holiday entitlement is genuinely illegal, coming in under the statutory minimum of 20-per-year with training included (I had 15 days last year). - Abysmal wages which barely scrape into the 'living wage' category, and are a *tiny* fraction of the day rate FDM charges its clients. - Utterly appalling sick pay practices for those on-site. Any income (less SSP which is pennies) is deducted from your pay check and you quite literally have to fight to receive even SSP. Creates a toxic culture where consultants feel obligated to work while incapacitated. - Extraordinary bureaucracy around pay, with absences frequently over-charged for and no accountability taken when pay is withheld. - 'Personal Development' and 'Mental health' are merely used as buzzwords, nothing else. No proactive support is offered to consultants unless Account Managers give up their personal time to do so. - The mentoring scheme is a complete and utter joke - effectively non-existent. - Extraordinarily punishing exit fees trap you in your role and are borderline criminal (in excess of university tuition). The quality of work you do on site has no impact on this whatsoever. - The training is worth about 1/10th of its quoted value.
