Pros

FDM offer fantastic opportunities for new graduates, allowing them to gain experience in large multinational companies, which they may not have been able to achieve on their own. Staff work really hard to find roles for trainees and to ensure that they are happy whilst onsite. The Consultants have a great network and seem to become good friends.

Cons

The training can be fast paced and intense, a lot of effort is needed. Trainees are required to act in a professional manner and treat their training period as if they are on a client site (e.g. wear professional attire, arrive on time, put in extra hours to finish projects if required etc.), this can be a bit of a shock to some at first but will put them in the correct mindset for when they start with a client.

Pros

Easy to get in. A taste of professional working environment. Start-up level IT training. Prospects in working in major financial institutions.

Cons

Could take up to 6 months(or more) before landing on a job since started. Underpayed. Equivalent job in an investment bank pays 75%- 100% more than FDM. Training is basic. Some trainers are trained to train(There are trainer trainees). No control over career path. The prospects of getting placed entirely depends on the work of sales. I.E. You have little chance on getting a job if sales are not performing, even if you are technically proficient. Outrageous "Sign-off" process. FDM deliberately slows the Sign-off to keep you from leaving the company.
