Pros

FDM Singapore tries their best to accomodate to their consultants' wants and needs. Also the overall FDM experience does depend on where the consultant gets assigned to. The initial trainings provided by FDM was adequate to equip most IT beginners to start in the real world. Account managers and HR personnels from FDM Singapore are generally quite responsive.

Cons

You might not get assigned to the role that you want, because all these are subject to your interview performance and budget from the company. Also its a 2 year "bond" with FDM once you begin at your contracted firm. Breaking this 2 year bond will result in a penalty so do think consider well before joining.

Pros

Able to work with global clients in the banking sector. especially within IB and blue chip companies. If not FDM i wouldnt have the chance to work with these companies. Training provided is good as well.

Cons

training can be quite tiring, but it was fruitful looking back.

Pros

Not an awful company apart from

one big negative (See Cons). On the plus side their clients are generally very good clients so if you can stick with the same client for 2 years and land yourself a permanent role, you should be earning good money. I did the training and got their supposed best client who I ended up working with for 3 years. Once you have a client you have almost no interaction with FDM assuming everything is going ok.

Cons

One HUGE negative is that once you finish your first week of training you're locked in for 2 years unless you pay 20000 gbp to release yourself - I regret being so naive as to accept this and can't believe its even legal in retrospect, but luckily enough it worked out for me as I got a good client in my first interview. It did not for many others. When I really wanted to leave my client (in my 2 year contract period with FDM) I had no rights to be allowed to leave on my terms. It wasn't possible as I would have had to pay that 20000(!!!) gbp 'training' fee to end my FDM contract prematurely which obviously I would not have even done if I had the money. If you do not get a client in the 3 months after you have finished training you'll be released for free. But that would be a genuinely awful 3 month period. This happened to 2 people in my class of 10/11 people. If you're not able to be successful in interviews with clients it can be a very lonely time (sitting in the office 'upskilling' - watching youtube) on a terrible wage (i.e. missing out on the performance pay for having a client). Personally, I tell anyone who asks me not to apply.
