Pros

Great relationships with their clients. Paid training. Paid certifications. Upfront about salary expectations. FDM has great relationships with their clients. Their client love to hire young talent from FDM that they believe have potential to be molded into long term assets for their company. FDM is very honest and upfront about what the pay their consultants prior to being hired. Being at the academy was also a great pleasure because you could really tell that the instructors were there for you and really wanted to see you succeed.

Cons

Training is not that useful. I dont really use much of my training from FDM at my client site. Most of my training for my job was done at the client site but that was not a problem and was understood by my manager prior to me joining the project. Be aware that if you join FDM you must be geographically flexible as FDM has clients all over the country and they will place you with which ever company wants you on their team.

Pros

The Academy has free coffee.

Cons

16 weeks of mandatory training at $12.50/hr provides you with no certification. Base salary is ~$22,680 with ~$68 bonus per day on placement. This theoretically equates to ~$40k in your first year. However, when you are between placements, you do not get your $68 bonus. This means you are getting payed ~$10.90/hr during the time you aren't in a placement. This is the minimum wage for students under 18 working less than 28 hours per week, $11.60 is true minimum wage as of writing. They get away with this for whatever reason (maybe that you have a set salary instead of an hourly one). Placements are not guaranteed, you still have to go through interviews with the FDM clients, and the placements are contracts of different lengths (that aren't necessarily going to be 2 years), so expect to be payed less than minimum wage for multiple stretches during your tenure. They value their training at $75/hr, that's their "investment in you." Breaching your two year contract with FDM can thus cost you upwards of $30k. Once you're in, you're in. Do not recommend.
