Pros

some basic training in the IT field, a chance to work for a big bank

Cons

- Low pay - I met many smart people at FDM and they get forced into roles like support engineer or quality engineer when they didn't apply for them - You are a product to FDM, you aren't even considered an 'employee' until you are onsite - The second you get on the bad side of an account manager you will not get anymore roles - The training is not great, you can learn everything on your own in 2 weeks - They take advantages of new grads - There are never any pure development roles. Most jobs are using very niche technologies that you will never find job postings for - They will fire you without reason

Pros

Recruitment process seems nice at the time, but they are covering up how the graduate programme is actually run. Able to leave with no strings attached within the first two weeks of training

Cons

This company are not transparent with placement structure - I was informed that I would be interviewing with different clients of my choice and would have a say about where I would be working and the nature of my work, however this is simply not true. They place you anywhere in the UK doing anything at all without consultation with very short notice. Turning down placements or so much as voicing an opinion (or so it seems) is viewed as a serious breach of contract which is a sackable offence and FDM reserve the right to charge £15k for training in this instance.

Pros

You get a foot in the door to an industry that you wouldn't have access to without the degrees. It's good to expose you to big clients.

Cons

The base pay is ridiculously low. 20K isn't sustainable in this day and age. If you have to pay any type of rent (thinking about London here) you're really screwed. I know consultants who have had to get second jobs to support themselves. They provide patchy pastoral care once you're placed.
