Pros

I have seen a small amount of less favourable reviews of FDM and am at a loss at how people have come to the conclusions they have on these. FDM is forward looking company who empowers its staff and trainees to be the best they can be with state of the art offices and equipment. The training they provide covers a wide range of Software Development Lifecycle Models, Development Languages, Software Testing Techniques and Project Management Techniques and bridges the gap for graduates and ex-forces personnel to enable them to expedite a number of roles for prestigious clients. The company rewards hard work and the optimistic approach of the staff in all areas of the business ensures that the company goes to great lengths to give the Trainee a full and rewarding experience. Take it from me that there is a lot of work that goes on in the background by all areas of the business to ensure that they remain a well-oiled machine. They regularly do charity days for a number of charities and celebrate diversity with an enthusiasm rarely seen in addition to championing the women in work initiative. As a current member of staff, I feel that the structure of the company and the business model makes Senior Management accessible to all within the Academies. I would invite anyone who is considering a career in IT and who satisfies the selection criteria to attend an open night and see for themselves. I am sure you will find the company is honest and transparent from day 1. The Staff actually care about the trainees and this can be seen from the moment you walk in the door. I am completely satisfied that they strive to be the best and while a very small minority may find FDM is not for them, the large majority of Trainees turn out to be valued members of staff by the clients and enjoy long and successful careers in the ever changing field of IT. I have personally never felt so at home in a company before and I would like to qualify this by saying I am not a member of Senior Management and my views are entirely my own. If you feel you may be interested in FDM, don’t take my word for it, come and see for yourself …

Cons

None - The company goes to great lengths to ensure that it maintains extremely high professional standards.

Pros

The Academy teaches on the job skills unlike some technical college courses I've had in the past. It is a very enthusiastic atmosphere. There is a camaraderie among trainees. Projects are very fast paced but trainers are extremely knowledgeable and helpful with course work. I feel like my skill level has grown significantly since I started at FDM.

Cons

Professional business attire every day.

Pros

It's an excellent way to start off your career in the industry if you have no prior experience before graduating.

Cons

Administration and consultant support is not their strong point.
