Pros

Exposure to technologies during the training period is quite good. Although the training is not great, it was great to be exposed to unix, SQL, VBA and Java. Possibility of going permanent in some big clients

Cons

Very low pay. Lack of support to their consultants. Lack of preparation for specific assignments/placements. Bad company culture - lack of incentives to support other FDM people placed on the client. Inflexible work agreement that can restrict your career significantly - need to be 100% flexible geographically across UK and need to work for 2 years for FDM Bad training - some of the modules stated in the training contract didn't have instructors or minimum materials

Pros

Lots of training available Supportive trainers Pays for certifications Whilst training, you get your travel costs to the academy subsidised

Cons

The salespeople are typical recruiters - at times can be very difficult to reach, sometimes do not bother giving feedback regarding interviews and put you forward for roles that you have not been trained to do whatsoever (a recruiter tactic) Once placed on site, you are binded to a 2 year contract and cannot leave without incurring high levels of costs

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. It’s great to hear that you value the training and the business model. I completely agree that feedback should be given to trainees and if this hasn’t been done with you please come and see me or email me so that I can look into this further. Pros

There are some really good opportunities to launch your career in IT, even if you come from a different field of study Nice and helpful HR

Cons

Low salary compared to what clients are actually paying for you You need to be really flexible, generally there's a 1-2 weeks notice period for terminating your contract at a client
