Pros

Have links with some large, high profile companies. Pay is decent if you are just out of university.

Cons

HR, Account Managers and Sales people treat trainees and consultants with utter contempt. Your concerns and opinions fall on deaf ears. You won't feel valued as a person. You get little choice on your future. Frequently lied to and deceived by the FDM head office staff. Regular displays of incompetence from admin, finance and HR staff lead to errors and miscommunication. Annual Leave is at the legal minimum.

Pros

Mmm works for some people I guess

Cons

FDM hired me on the basis that my chemical engineering degree would be transferraable. One month into their intense training, they dropped me with no warning due to me failing a couple tests. From my understanding we had three chances to pass. Also they wanted us to learn JAVA in four days, is this possible? Highly unlikely. As it was out of the two week period and as it was their choice, they didn’t charge me with the £20,000 training fee. Honestly after discussions with other trainees, I believe FDM dropped me and others due to their inability to place trainees that are on the earlier streams. They knew the would struggle to place us as well so it was probably easier to remove the dead weight. A waste of my time - they see you as a product to be sold . I ignored the glassdoor reviews at first however i will not be making that mistake again.

Pros

working in central London, 'prepping' you for the corporate world as you have to look smart every day

Cons

the business model is awful. they try to teach you everything from scratch in around 4 days and make you take an exam on the 5th day of the week, if you fail you basically get one more go and if you fail again you're out. it's a terrible way of doing things to young graduates and it's also very cut-throat in the way you are used as just a number to get pushed out and make money for them. they also pay you pennies in comparison to what they get as you're contracting for them so you're salary is ridiculous.
