Pros

Received basic training, if you are lucky you will get a placement at company and organisation suited to your career plans and aspirations.

Cons

Charged out at 250 a day, receive 80 a day. No choice in where or what role. I'd unhappy on site will face a disciplinary regardless of performance.

Pros

You have experience a large company with the potential to be kept on there after the two years. Basic training in a variety of areas

Cons

They are rubbish to work for. 1 The training is pretty awful. It starts off well but as you near the end of your training you are forgotten about and abandoned for the newer recruits. I feel like I was pretty badly prepared for what i'd face in the workplace. I've been on site 6 months no and only just up to standard i'd say 2 They give you the absolute minimum of everything, 20 days holiday a year, no overtime, £21000 salary. 3 they don't adjust salary on location. I almost ended up in Newcastle but am actually in London on the same £21000 id have got in Newcastle. Rent is really not the same down here as up north! 4 They really don't care about where / what you want to do. You get sent to work for the first company you are put in front of that says yes.

Pros

You get experience after you graduate - the "bridge the gap" saying is true for FDM and you also get to meet lots of new people during training and make connections which could help later in your life. However, if you have other options - do not accept a job at FDM.

Cons

You do not get a choice in what line of IT you specialise in and you do not get an choice in what roles you go for, therefore you could end up with experience in an area that you are good at but not interested in. You have to commit for a minimum of two years or they will ask you to pay for the very very overpriced training in full and you have to be flexible to work around the entire UK even if your circumstances change or they promise you otherwise. Gives you the minimum training needed and sometimes train you in subjects that you already know. Do not pay you until you start your first role. Do not pay for overtime and they expect you to do it. Only joined as this was my only option and I'm counting down the days until the end of my minimum employment period.
