      Toxic IT Corporate Culture

      Pros

      Company pays well but even this has slipped to competitors over recent years. Some departments have remote work options.

      Cons

      Extremely toxic culture. Not what the company used to be or stand for. Slow technology adoption all the while leaders only seem to care about climbing their own ladder. No longer promote engineers or management from within - be prepared for a stagnant career.

      Pros

      Some of the hardest working and brightest people work there. Very knowledgeable. I watched several people be promoted through nepotism, there didn't seem to be a need to be actually qualified for the job promotions. This is a pro- meaning you can't fail when that is the case. I learned a lot of marketable skills. I also, learning how to document, document, document everything!! I experienced both extremes- one supervisor that was scared of the level 3 and one that was heroic in the sense that they did not cave to doing things immorally-( on a management of people related decisions.)

      Cons

      Level 3 leadership is petty and at times, malicious, in it's treatment of staff. Not sure why, maybe it was a weak concern with culture or desperation to promote into leadership those with poor relationship skills or promotion of those that the leader could manipulate. Cons- if you are promoted to fill a spot and you are chosen for your qualifications- you might wind up being the person that takes the blame for things you didn't actually do. BE WARNED.
