Pros

Decent pay, entry level, promote from within, strengthen various skills.

Cons

As a former employee if you ever plan on getting into the rental car industry. DO NOT DRINK THE KOOL-AID. My original start day was in January, a week before I was suppose to start I learn they push back my start date for a month. Leaving me unemployed for a month after a two week notice at my previous position. Corporate training does not prepare you for the bomb shell of walking into a branch. I compare the corporate training to military training, promise you glory, success, ect. Only to be completely shocked when you storm the beaches. Upon starting at my branch, I learn we also have a satellite branch. Never was told this even leading up to my first day at the branch…HMMMM I WONDER WHY? My time at enterprise truly sent me down a mental spiral. Terrible work environment with my coworkers, zero professionalism. Was over worked managing two different branches with just 1 detailer/driver and 3 employees. And did the area manager help? NOT ONE BIT. That place should be lucky I stuck out my two week notice. Any HR people that are lucky to stumble upon this review, I hope you truly know what you guys are doing to your new hires.

Pros

The middle management is often great! The pay is extremely good (however, it's not actually 50,000 as advertised until after overtime). There is a strong feeling of camaraderie among the lower-level employees. The company does seem to stand for some amazing values, as long as they pertain to the outside world. Volunteer work is encouraged, and we even got a half day paid to do so.

Cons

The elephant in the room will always be that there are never enough cars. Customers are encouraged to make reservations for cars online, and inevitably, they will arrive and discover that the reservation is often just a suggestion. THIS IS A KNOWN DAILY ISSUE IN THE COMPANY AND WILL NEVER CHANGE AS LONG AS YOU WORK THERE. I want to make that very clear, this will be a daily battle. There are never enough vehicles and the lower-level employees are taught how to manage irritated customers, trade vehicles when they can with other dealerships, brush off customers who make same-day reservations, and even "steal" cars from other dealerships. This is a common and accepted practice for the company rather than fixing the problem (not letting people make a reservation if there is NO CAR). Customers do not understand why they have made a reservation, only to not have a car and honestly, I completely agree with them. It is a dishonest, confusing, and under-handed business practice. Upper management is a nightmare. There is so much "we are family" and "we care about you", however, we dreaded seeing them walk into the offices because they would cause major problems on purpose to see how we handled them. They will NEVER EVER have your back over the customer, so if you can handle always being the "bad guy" in customer interactions (even when you are following policy and rules perfectly) and being thrown under the bus if upper management thinks it will fix a customer's "bad experience" then absolutely go for it.

Pros

The people you work with are truly wonderful, you all suffer together and the bond that’s created through suffering is truly unbreakable. Once you hit the year mark, find another role that will pay and treat you better.

Cons

Very long hours- I have worked 50+ hour weeks and had to work several Saturdays in a row due to staffing issues. As expected with long hours, you have absolutely no work life balance, we were told never to make plans after work even if they were at 6pm onwards as you will have to stay late. You will eventually stop fighting it and just accept that whilst you work here, you will have no life. The pay a trainees receives is minimum wage, we are on 45 hour contracts with no paid breaks, and the breaks you will get will be staggered, you could have lunch at 12pm or 4pm, if you are lucky and actually get the chance to have lunch and do not even dream of having lunch with a colleague because that’s frowned upon. You will be washing cars, on average I washed 4 cars a day, completely filthy cars that needed to be spotless otherwise it could be a “hot alert complaint”. Upper management will try wolf of Wall Street motivation tactics to try and get you to sell insurance and fuel, but with no monetary benefits to you. If you come in the top 20 in the north west for sales you get a £100 for your efforts, reason why most trainees give up trying to sell and just do the bare minimum whilst looking for other roles.
