Pros

If you network correctly, you will be practically untouchable in terms of job security. The "Full Salary + Commission" structure is unique and most jobs cannot offer this. There is a lot of money to be made if you can ignore the "internal hurdles" and the "internal politics" the STL office has.

Cons

If you are a minority, you do not have any job security no matter how much you network/politic. Other regions of Cigna are different but in the Mid-West it is preferred to be a Caucasian otherwise you can be removed at a moments notice. Due to the high turnover, there is a good chance you will be responsible for cleaning up other workers messes (often). There is no value or loyalty to workers that exceed performance results.

Pros

The Cigna Group overall is a fantastic company to work for! They invest in their employees and do a great job ensuring everyone, in all departments/locations/teams feel as if they matter with the multitude of perks they offer to employees. Many team members were knowledgeable, hardworking, and genuinely committed to supporting the healthcare industry.

Cons

While employed at Cigna healthcare, I experienced a work environment that often lacked consistent communication, balanced workload distribution, and transparent leadership practices. High-performing employees were frequently expected to absorb additional responsibilities without corresponding support, while shifting expectations and excessive micromanagement created unnecessary stress and instability. Over time, this impacted morale, trust within teams, and overall employee well-being.
