Pros
Pay is above minimum wage. You get an employee discount on clothes within the shop. Staff in this particular location were lovely to chat with, and we had regular group nights out together.
Cons
New employees have a strict uniform, however longer-running employees get to wear much more comfortable clothes from that season's range. The demand to be immediately perfect at everything in the shop is very high. Often worked unpaid overtime during closing shifts. There are no half-hours paid, so managers would keep us working right up to that half hour mark extra, every closing shift. Company treats staff as disposable. When I left, about half the staff quit (including regional manager,) for various reasons to do with the executive team's decisions. You are essentially working for a physical equivalent to Shein, and have to put on a smile while selling clothes that fall apart before they are even put on the shelves.
