Pros

It was enjoyable to have an opportunity to work with hospitality professionals around the world. It was satisfying to be doing something as worthwhile as helping a client’s business become a success. I feel I developed many skills while working at SiteMinder and had an opportunity to work with some interesting people. All the staff and management are sociable and there is a nice general vibe around the office with a nice mix of cultural diversity and fun & interesting characters. The office in Galway has the benefits of being situated in the city centre as well as a really nice view of the docks and Galway Bay. The office also has a kitchen with complimentary food & drink, pool table, table tennis and table football. There are health insurance & pension benefits, “4 Thirsty” (drink and nibbles on a Friday), and seasonal office parties (Spring, Summer, Christmas).

Cons

It is important to note if you are considering joining SiteMinder they are a SAAS company who's primary objective is growth with new subscribers. The pressure on the managers to improve the KPIs and account for why forecasts not being met results in extreme micro-management for staff. If you are considering a role as in OnBoarding, I would recommend Googling for information on Customer onboarding/customer engagement if you are not already familiar with the concept as it’s a lot different from typical customer service/support roles. I feel this role is suited for a younger person lacking initiative that would benefit from being micromanaged while they gain some work experience.
