Pros

Great place to work. Everything you'd expect of a FTSE 100 company. Passionate about local roots and customers from small to enterprise

Cons

Personally I have found that once at manager level it's hard to progress as there are professional roles which require experience, or Leadership roles which are a big jump which isn't frequent or likely.

Thank you for taking your time to write a review. We would agree with you that Sage is a great company to work for and the passion it has for its history, roots and customers is evident in everything we do. Our colleagues are fantastic too! We are working hard to improve how we identify and promote talent at Sage. The Sage Talent Review recognises high potential talent and helps future stars achieve their ambitions. We also help colleagues develop themselves and all colleagues are encouraged to have a personal development plan to help their managers understand their career ambitions. I am not sure if you have done this already, if you have not talk to your manager or your HRBP / People Business Partner. There is also further guidance on personal development available on Lynda.com via Sage Academy. We want you to achieve your career ambitions and be the best you can be. If you want further guidance please email us at Glassdoor@sage.com and we would be happy to help. Thanks again for the review.

Pros

was hired as remote and get to have that honored, but have been openly told no career progression because of remote status. decent pay

Cons

Leadership instability: Seven manager changes during my relatively short tenure. Unrealistic targets: A sales quota set at 1,100% growth (not a typo). Slow product development: Getting anything actioned on the product side takes far too long. Product management turnover: Three product manager changes, resulting in no meaningful deliverables in over three years. Misaligned hiring priorities: Greater emphasis on DEI optics than on hiring people positioned to drive growth. Internal vs. customer focus: More energy spent on internal events than on product enhancements. Lack of accountability (the biggest issue): No one takes ownership. Responsibility gets passed around constantly — for example, client cancellations going unprocessed because they impact someone's numbers. Managers have openly encouraged pushing the work onto someone else rather than handling it.
