Pros

People are passionate and excited about the Project. Some people work very hard and believe in the difference they will make to the Australian Army. Offices are very nice. 9 day fortnight is good.

Cons

Company is a complete disaster. I believe this is primarily German and Australian cultures clashing, poor leadership, directors and execs being disconnected from the reality and inter company feuds. Management refuses to accept the position they have created and have a laissez-faire attitude that everything will be fine. Company has a negative culture around bad news and asking for help or highlighting issues. Most of your time is spent generating report after report. Very hard to get time with anyone who can make decisions. There is always another department or business to blame and a hesitance to help others or communicate issues that the team is experiencing. This resulted in different functions refusing to talk to each other. Major analysis paralysis, Management rather make others gather more info because they don't believe things are as bad as advised. Some managers are genuinely bullies. I've seen people get shouted at and constantly belittled in large meetings. I've know people who were threatened to be terminated only weeks after starting.

Pros

I have been working at this defense company for over three years now, and it has been a truly rewarding experience. The company fosters a collaborative and innovative environment where employees are encouraged to grow professionally and contribute meaningfully to national security projects. Leadership is supportive and transparent, providing clear direction and opportunities for career advancement. The company offers competitive benefits and a strong commitment to employee well-being. In my role, I have had the chance to work on exciting projects that have a real impact on the defense sector. The team is highly skilled and motivated, and there is a strong sense of camaraderie and mutual respect. Overall, this company is a great place to build a career, especially for those passionate about contributing to important defense initiatives and working in a dynamic, forward-thinking environment.

Cons

Work life balance is a challenge during the initial growth phase but has begun to get better as the company has continued to hire additional employees.

Pros

None. Go get a job with a real company that actually cares about their employees and a sustainable future. Not just chasing the next big thing without a plan or process in place.

Cons

1.) “Market disruptor,” composed of the same people in executive management that made defense a billion dollar black-hole of taxpayer money in the first place 2.) Highly incompetent engineering management in the software department. Can’t tell the difference between an embedded system and an enterprise system. 3.) Very, very poor leadership: You will not be supported. But, you will be expected to carry the weight of an entire program on your shoulders with no equity in the company and four or five different people harassing you for status, but unwilling or unable to lift a single finger to help you themselves.
