Pros

The people (and by that I mean the people who do the work, not the senior management) The benefits - good contributory pension scheme and maternity benefits particularly

Cons

Inexplicably the company has been bleeding talent and seems intent on hanging on to senior managers who have delivered nothing (Sales Directors who have missed targets year on year, VPs who cannot deliver success if their lives depended on it). They claim to have values of 'Brave, Imaginative and Decent (also now adding 'Accountable' but there is little evidence of any of this in the organisation I left. Staff are treated with contempt not decency as they are repeatedly urged to be proud to work for Pearson whilst at the same time being asked to work twice as hard for no more money to cover hiring gaps as yet another re recruitment freeze is put in place to preserve profit.

Pros

When a project goes according to plan you can work with some great people and make decent money.

Cons

Bad behavior is tolerated when you have a weak team member. They are allowed to remain on payroll, even if they do not effectively contribute. The burden is often placed on the team members willing to pick up the slack. Promotions are not given to the most qualified. They are randomly assigned. There are some horrible scoring directors as a result.
