Pros

Flexibility - very flexible timeframes for working, essentially set your own hours as an adjunct Remote - can work from anywhere in the U.S.

Cons

Pay - deplorable. Seriously, you are better off in fast food or something similar. Administrators - Awful communication, do not care about your input or opinions. Don't let them fool you with that biannual survey - no changes come from it. If you bring up a valid concern or item for change, you are shushed and told to evaluate if this is the job for you because 'that's the way it is.' Job tasks/expectations - Over-the-top considering the pay. To actually accomplish everything they ask of you and do it well, you will be working for less than minimum wage. Quality/Standards - Students are allowed to redo assignments and quizzes until they obtain the grade they want. I'm not taking a stance on whether this is good or bad, I'm just putting it out there (and there's no "neutral" category to list this under.) Advancement Opportunities - Zero for adjuncts. None.

Pros

When a project goes according to plan you can work with some great people and make decent money.

Cons

Bad behavior is tolerated when you have a weak team member. They are allowed to remain on payroll, even if they do not effectively contribute. The burden is often placed on the team members willing to pick up the slack. Promotions are not given to the most qualified. They are randomly assigned. There are some horrible scoring directors as a result.
