Pros

There are many great, hard working people who work at OPSWAT on the engineering team.

Cons

By far the most unpleasant work environment I have ever worked in. I never knew what the plan was, as it changed constantly and without notice. We were expected to fix code (we are not developers, we are writers) and read the mind of our manager. I was also yelled at numerous times in meetings. I was usually too shocked to even know how to respond. I pleaded with my manager to simply communicate with us as to what he wanted done, to no avail. I spent my time there trying to find another job. Avoid at all costs.

This seems like an issue that you experienced with your direct manager, and that it does not represent the company as a whole. We value the importance of training our managers how to effectively lead. We will keep your comments in mind for future management training initiatives.

Pros

In my 8 months of interning at OPSWAT, the work culture stood out like no other. From the first day I was greeted and welcomed by several people around the office. I always looked forward to team/office lunches and playing ping pong with my peers. I was also able to take on important projects and regularly meet with customers and prospects. Lastly, everyone wants you to succeed, and as an intern everyone is willing to help you grow. I have learned so much throughout my two sessions as a Product Manager Intern. I would recommend this position and OPSWAT to anyone as it is a great place to work.

Cons

I have no cons at all.

Pros

• Dedicated employees who are committed to the company’s success. • Opportunity to take ownership of meaningful work and make a visible impact. • Exposure to a growing cybersecurity company with a global presence. • Employees are trusted with significant responsibility and autonomy.

Cons

• Environment is heavily influenced by the CEO’s leadership style, which may not be a fit for everyone. It can be really intense. • Employees may be reluctant to raise concerns or challenge leaders out of fear. • PTO and holiday benefits are less competitive than those offered by many similarly sized companies. The limited amount of time off can make it challenging for employees to recharge and maintain long-term work-life balance.
