Pros

IQVIA looks good on a resume for when you inevitably leave.

Cons

-Absolutely no work-life balance, be prepared to work 65 hour weeks of high stress work with peaks up to 80 hours. -This is not consulting, it's a market research firm vailed as strategy. -Moving up the ladder at IQVIA is completely political. -The consulting practice is completely understaffed, but principals continue to sell work with no real plans to remedy this issue. -Upper management is completely uninterested in the work after they sell, so don't expect any collaboration or meaningful knowledge transfer. -Project managers are rude, self-absorbed, play favorites, and couldn't care less how much work they put on your plate, or if that work is even necessary to the project. -Turnover is higher than I could have ever imagined. The consulting practice is around 500 employees and 6-8 people leave each month, with maybe 1-2 new hires coming in each month. Despite this, as mentioned above, seniors continue to sell work driving up hours and reducing the quality of the work.

Pros

Resources and access to good studies to be successful in research, immediate PTO benefits, 401k match.

Cons

Growth opportunities/compensation - besides the annual merit raises of <3 percent I haven’t gotten a raise in 5 years.

Pros

Great pay initially, especially after negotiating. People are very smart and willing to meet for networking and learning opportunities. Flexibility and work life balance is by far the best perk - especially since many roles are fully remote.

Cons

Merit raises have been subpar the last 4 years and do not come close to keeping with inflation, consistently the company cites great EBITDA growth but that never is shown in bonuses nor merit raises despite receiving “exceeds expectations” ratings. Parental leave is a nominal. Very easy to get “lost in the sauce” of such a large company.
