Pros

Pay, looks good on a resume,

Cons

My boss wouldn’t approve a new laptop even when it froze in the middle of an SIV. I brought along hard copies (I/E and schedule of events only) against my boss’s advice. They salvaged the SIV! I also asked for an upgrade for adobe so I could submit docs to the TMF team, correctly. She said NO. I purchased a power cord for my cell in the airport because I left mine, and I had a 3 hour delay.. I was coached on not doing this. My PTO was denied twice. I missed my scheduled billable date because I had 2 major deaths in our family within 4 weeks. This was used against me. My late reports in May were used against me even tho I submitted all of June on time (which was the agreed plan forwArd). At my do one SIV, the site had zero reg docs due to a crap new system, it has since been halted, oh and did I mention my laptop froze. and they used this against me, stating I didn’t know what the reg docs were ! Ludicrous. They let me go in 6 mos time. No ROI, and screwed around with my livelihood. This is just one persons VeRY recent experience. God speed❤️

Pros

Resources and access to good studies to be successful in research, immediate PTO benefits, 401k match.

Cons

Growth opportunities/compensation - besides the annual merit raises of <3 percent I haven’t gotten a raise in 5 years.

Pros

Great pay initially, especially after negotiating. People are very smart and willing to meet for networking and learning opportunities. Flexibility and work life balance is by far the best perk - especially since many roles are fully remote.

Cons

Merit raises have been subpar the last 4 years and do not come close to keeping with inflation, consistently the company cites great EBITDA growth but that never is shown in bonuses nor merit raises despite receiving “exceeds expectations” ratings. Parental leave is a nominal. Very easy to get “lost in the sauce” of such a large company.
