Pros

1. Almost everyone is WFH indefinitely. HV is very risk averse and will not force anyone into the office if they are worried about covid. 2. Competitive salary if you negotiate it on your way in. They are going to start doing annual reviews and raises in 2020. 3. Smart people. 4. It is a paycheck and that is important right now. If you really need income/benefits, then accept the offer. Understand that you will be doing the work of 2-3 people and that the work may be outside of your job description as a developer, analyst, PM, manager, etc. Expect to wear multiple hats.

Cons

1. incredibly immature IT department 2. most, perhaps all, IT jobs moving to Mexico City, Poland or Hyderabad. Perception is that the US is too expensive. Lots of business jobs are also moving or being eliminated. 3. Tons of new mgmt. Laid off 900 people in October 2020 even though the business made their revenue and profit goals. 4. Not a fun place to be.

Pros

Decent pay, average benefits, some autonomy to get things done

Cons

The entire leadership group that I was hired under was gone within 18 months and replaced but far worse examples. Micro-managing and then threatening corrective action plans as a means to force out those who they didn't like or earned too much. From a technology perspective, the storage products are average and inline with competition, but with far fewer reps in the field and no real marketing or inside sales to speak of, Hitachi Vantara is largely irrelevant in the Storage industry now.
