Pros

+ Dedicated, high performing colleagues + We build a product that is used by physicians every day to improve patient care, so the work confers a strong sense of purpose + Opportunities for professional growth vertically and laterally with clear career ladders. With our manager, we set individualized goals each year to ensure we know what we need to achieve to progress our careers and focus on the areas that are the most interesting to us. + Work from home 2 days per week (following initial probation period) + Flex time and reasonable managers who let you periodically adjust your work schedule to allow you to manage other life responsibilities + Brand new office space with ample meeting/quiet rooms, adjustable height desks, loads of natural sunlight, and a designated desk for each employee that you are welcome to personalize + Opportunities to travel to professional conferences and customer sites (if desired) + Regular team building activities and company sponsored lunches + 2 extra days of PTO given to allow you to volunteer at the charity of your choice

Cons

- large, global organization has many level of bureaucracy so can be slow to implement changes (as with most other large corporations) - matrix structure can sometimes lead to slow progress when there is no clear single champion pushing forward an initiative - senior leadership is not located in Pittsburgh, so there is limited interaction with the key decision makers - CEO is new, so not enough data yet to form an opinion on her performance

Thank you for this balanced and thoughtful review. We're glad to hear that our benefits and investment in people are making a positive impact, those are commitments we take seriously. On the process feedback: Leadership is actively reviewing operational workflows, and the advice to listen more closely to employee feedback is something we're holding ourselves accountable to. If you're open to it, we'd encourage you to bring specific examples forward through your team or people and culture contacts. Change is most effective when it's grounded in the real experiences of the people doing the work, and that means you. Feel free to reach out to us at elseviergdrev@elsevier.com to provide more information Thank you for staying engaged and for caring enough to share this. It matters.

Pros

-Great company -Team has talented, experienced account managers and product experts who know the territory well

Cons

West team management is heavy on micromanagement and sets unrealistic territory targets without rep input — high turnover, and long tenure in company seems to shield this manager from accountability and growth
