Pros
The building we work in is cool and iconic.
Cons
Before taking this job, I was told be multiple people to avoid this company, but I had to learn for myself. I’ll admit, my first year we were WFH and I had rose colored glasses. Then we were in the office a soft 1-2x a week and I still liked it, probably because there wasn't forced fake interaction. Now we've gone from a soft 3x to a very aggressive and forced 4x a week and wow. I get why people hate this place now and why it’s had a terrible reputation for so long. People are toxic, insufferable, only out for themselves. So, so incredibly cliquey, it is quite literally high school all over again. And this is across all departments. Editorial, sales, branded, commercial, legal, talent group, operations, etc. No one is saved or immune from the enshittification. They will hire you for the lowest possible price they can get you for, and you will never get a promotion or raise beyond an occasional cost-of-living raise that doesn't even keep up with inflation. They make promotion timelines vague and unclear what exactly you need to do to qualify. They dangle that carrot saying "you'll get it next cycle" until you finally just quit. They also hate parents and are judgmental against them, particularly moms. Also the company is floundering in this new age of media, its just sad to see.
