Pays well depending on location, but horribly run organization - Regulatory Analyst Avangrid Employee Review

Pros

The organization pays well for entry-level positions. Adapted well to the COVID crisis by being prepared for the majority of their workers to work remotely.

Cons

As a caveat to them paying well, they will only offer standard increases in pay of 1.75% regardless of your performance. Because one of the ways utilities make more money is to eliminate costs, you will regularly see people in your department leave and they won't replace that person, just spread their work out to everyone else...this means over time your workload will increase yet you will only be compensated 1.75% more each year, which doesn't even keep pace with inflation. Addtionally, they treat their employees pretty horribly. I participated in a leadership development program within the company for two years -- towards the end of said program I relayed to my supervisor and HR that I'd like to find a different position within the company. Despite completing said leadership development program and getting great performance reviews, I was let go because "I failed to secure a position by the time the program ran out." Despite my telling them my desire to stay with the company I was let go simply because there weren't any open relevant positions at the time the program ended. To top it off, when I applied for a position that finally opened up after I was let go -- I was told there is an arbitrary period of time when they can't re-hire me because I was recently let go. I would discourage anyone interested in an internship or entry-level position from applying to this company. They do not care about their workers, no matter how much they say they do. This organization is also incredibly siloed. People in other departments are very unlikely to help you with a cross-functional task unless repeatedly asked to do so by senior management...even then, help is usually minimal. The organization says it values diversity and inclusion but really they only value hiring hispanic people to senior positions in the US. If you're a hispanic person, that's great for you -- if you're not, you're likely to be passed over in favor or someone who is hispanic.

Pros

Great working environment and great perks for employees

Cons

Although the company is headquartered in the United States all of the serious decisions are made in Spain and Europe rather than here

Pros

Solid pay, amazing benefits, best 410k match I've ever seen. Very generous PTO.

Cons

Extreme micromanagement, very high turnover, getting anything accomplished is a challenge. Management knows there are major issues, but nothing changes. Job would be bearable if the manager were replaced. Way too much finger pointing.
